Frequently Asked Questions

If you don't find the answer you're looking for you can always contact me.

Where did you learn to teach yoga?

In India and in London. I started practicing yoga during summer 2015 and I attended my first Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training (200h) in Autumn 2018 in Goa, India, in a Yoga Alliance (both UK and US) certified school called Sampoorna Yoga School. After that, I attended a 50h Rocket Yoga teacher training with David Kyle, a 60h Yin Yoga teacher training at Sampoorna, a 20h Mandala Methodology teacher training with The Yoga People, and a 30h Music & Yoga training with Good Life Yoga School. I’m always learning with my teachers and looking at improving my teaching through trainings and certifications. I’m also fully insured through Yoga Alliance UK Yoga Teacher Insurance.

Is it safe for me to practice yoga?

You know best what’s good for you. As a yoga instructor, I’ve learned contraindications to asana and various tools such as pranayama or meditation. However this doesn’t mean that I’m a qualified doctor or therapist. I’ll always encourage you to pay attention to what your body and your mind are telling you, and remind you that the yoga practice is a healing practice. If practicing makes you feel pain, whether it’s physical, mental or emotional then I wouldn’t recommend you continue practicing, or at least not with me. I’m a huge believer in the healing power of the yoga practice, but I do not believe that practicing yoga can replace medication or therapy shall you need it. My goal is to empower my students so they can know themselves better and I’ll always encourage your sense of agency.

Will the class be adapted to my experience?

It depends on the class. I offer various types of classes. All of them have variations of poses that can suit good or bad days. However, some of the styles I teach are more adapted to experienced practitioners because of the pace of the practice which doesn’t always allow me to give as many cues as I would in a slower paced class. Remember that you can always take a child pose at any time if you need a break, as long as you keep breathing.

What do I need to practice yoga?

Time and space, attention and discipline.
These are the most important things that you need. Beyond these, having a mat, yoga blocs and a strap can only make your practice more comfortable, but they’re not strictly required. Also, remember that big books and a towel can do the trick too. If you’re wondering how to choose your yoga mat, I’ve written an article on my blog about it.

Do you teach private classes?

I do.
I teach private group classes in companies (corporate classes) and I sometimes teach private individual classes. If you’re interested, contact me so we can discuss what you’re looking for in your practice, and take it from there.

What data do you keep about me and why?

The minimum.
My insurance requires that I keep track of who is attending my classes, as well as making sure that my students have been informed and have accepted a liability waiver. For that reason, I need to collect your email address, first name, last name, date of birth and city of residence when you attend a class with me.

  • If you haven’t subscribed to my newsletter, I’ll keep that information for 3 months after the last class you attended so you won’t have to sign the waiver again during those 3 months.
  • If you’ve subscribed to my newsletter, I’ll keep that information up to 1 week after you unsubscribe.

According to the GDPR right to access your data, you can request the data I keep about you at anytime by sending me an email from the email address you used to sign up with.

I want to cancel my booking. Am I going to get a refund?

It depends when you cancel.
Each public class I teach through my online studio requires preparation and dedication, and is time I don’t spend teaching for other studios. This is why I need to know in advance how many students are planning to attend the class (a minimum of 2 students is required for the class to run).

  • If you cancel your booking up to 2h before the class, the class will be re-credited on your pass.
  • If you cancel your booking less than 2h before the class, the class will be lost and won’t be re-credited on your pass.

Troubleshooting: I can't join a live class

To join a live class you need to have Zoom installed on your computer. After booking your class, you’ll receive an email to confirm your booking. Then 45min before the beginning of the class, or straight after booking if you’ve booked less than 45min before the beginning of the class, you’ll receive an email with the link to the virtual room. If you use Gmail and you haven’t received the email with the link, please check the Promotions tab as emails containing links often are mistaken for promotional emails. If you can’t find the link anywhere–not even in your Spam folder—please contact me ahead of the class. Make sure you contact me early enough as I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to provide support less than 10min before the class.
